Money....
by The Rebel ini believe all our worst nightmare are believing money will make our life's complete.
i am not talking about money providing life's comforts, but i am mortified that contentment and happiness always requires " more money"..ummm i need a window cleaner, a flashy car and a 50inch t.v screen to be happy.
money...well in my opinion we need money integrity to be happy, but it seems such a waste of life to search for the making of money more than ....well what i mean "hey" most of us have more money than most, and would the making or having more money really make you happier?.

My grandkids and I play chase through my house. Their mother freaks out. LOL, I call it look gram gram I am going to go get a piece of crystal in that room that I am not allowed in now it is time for you to chase me. Their dad, my son when he is here just plants himself in the door frame of the room that they are supposed to be in and states YOU need a baby gate. -

Money Oh Yes it can make you very happy but does it really make you happy. We had it all!! I was making big bucks 4 story colonial, nice new cars, 2 kids in the best private schools, a nanny and maid,oh and an abusive husband who did nothing. My clients were all treated as if they were my only client I had. Then on 6/1/2000 I got my wake up call. The doctor said you have cancer. In the next 12 months I beat cancer, kicked the husband out, fired 50% of the clients, sold the monster house ($4,000 amonth mtg) moved to the suburbs and devoted my life to my kids and being happy and healthy. -

@Vidiot,
I have been accused of having a loving and caring heart and never knowing when to say no to these people in need. And I have 3 of these people in my life. Thankfully I now have gotten 2 of them out of my life. The 3rd one I am sorta stuck with since he has nowhere to go but he knows now he better behave because I have threatened to kick his sorry butt out again. He knows I mean it cause I did it once till the state gave him back to me since I forgot to file for divorce.

My heart goes out to you. What a very sad story. None of us were JWS but I suffered from an abusive alcoholic mom not nearly as bad as yours. This is what has made me into an advocate for all children. I now work endlessly for all kinds of children charities.
Yes, and my mother also blamed me even into adulthood calling me a thief, liar and crook as I was paying her bills and attempting to care for her. LOL
For my own health I have forgiven her BUT not forgotten what she did. She is in a nursing home where the County Sheriff and Social Services highly recommended placing her for everyone's safety because she had become much to violent to control.
Welcome to the forum.

Tornintwo,
Never a JW, but walked away from religion at 50 for good. I had been a member of the same church since the age of 12 even married there. That was the year my life fell apart. I had 2 dependent kids and an abusive husband. On 6/1 I was diagnosed with cancer and butt head husband response was thanks for telling me and turned around walked away from me, never showed up at the hospital.
When I went to the pastor and said I was ill. and my husband just upped the abuse, his response was sorry your going through this. Never heard another word from any member of the church. I have never returned.
I believe very strongly in a Supreme Being which I call God and Jesus. After much research I now believe ALL religions are man made, if God had created Religion he would have created ONE. Think of all the wars that would have never have happened. The more I think about it the less I believe in the Bible, there are some good points in the Bible like living a good truthful life with high morals. Loving one another. Help one another.
The way I worship God is sitting in one of God's beautiful nature environments (prefer sunrise on the east coast) and listening to several hours of wonderful Gospel music which reflect the gifts that God has given very special people. This allows me a wonderful time to meditate on all the great things that I have in my life. God and I also take a little time to talk about some of these crazy people in my life too.

Never a JW. As I have stated on this forum many times I am one of the adult leaders of one of the Masonic youth groups. We teach our youth about charity work. The major fund raiser is HIKE which is short for Hearing Impaired Kids Endowment. Each year these youth will organize on their own with some adult assistance all types of fund raisers to raise money for this charity. Last year alone the state I am from these kids raised $25,000 for this charity.
Who benefits from this charity? Any child who has hearing loss between the ages of 10 and 20 and applies for assistance, we ask no questions as to religious beliefs, race, etc only questions asked are medical need and financial need.
As I said on another thread yesterday these videos and literature produced for the children by the WT "ARE" child abuse!!!

Sabin,
My question is what parent would allow any child to come before a panel of three men (firing squad) for reprimand, how loving and caring is that?
I work with youth and we do it one on one maybe two and one and there is always a woman involved to give the motherly love. If it is a serious infraction we will have a parent come with the youth.
And we do not punish bad behavior we work to correct the bad behavior in a loving and caring manner.

Never a JW but in 5 years the "Elder" only told me that the JW did not believe in the cross. No further discussion. At about the 5 year mark he gave me the booklet on Families to read. As I told him afterwards I agreed with most of it. He never told me the rules haha we do not question our beliefs. Never told me that one but I did start out gently with What is this pronoun thing why are you teaching your sons and not your daughters to lead? Response was women have there roles in the congregation. Me: What are they? Funny how that never got an answer. Next set of questions went unanswered for months, actually he kept losing the email and every time I reminded him he had not answered he asked if I would resend the email. Basically my children were taught to make decisions for themselves by the time they reached high school and were fully involved in after school activities. I had no part in making any of these decisions, the only thing I participated in was how far away they could apply to for college. So when I read that part about the son could not join the football team the booklet went a flying OH and by far that was not the only time. So, I was asking at what point do you allow your children to grow up and make decisions or are mom and dad always going to make the decision for them?
Last February there was a video shown for the young ones about paying attention during the meetings and not falling asleep - totally EMOTIONAL ABUSE!!! There have been other videos that have been abusive as well.
From what I have read on this forum, the ARC, the literature and videos produced by WT there is enough evidence to say that this organization is full of emotional, physical and sexual abuse of children.

this was in australia, but the khs i've seen (in the us) are designed so that you'd have to almost intentionally want to ram a building to cause this kind of damage.

I think actual road test should be required. My mother lost her driver's license after being involved in 2 accidents that costs the insurance company $150,000. My dumb _ _ _ sister said well since she lives in a gated community she can still drive around the community. My response have you seen how she drives the golf cart? No she does not need to be driving anything that has any form of a motor because she is already drunk before she gets dressed in the morning. I would normally hang up about then because that is when she would start to cuss me out.
My estranged husband lost his license in his early 60'S. I felt like a cab driver.
